Americans have started buying the electric SUV Hummer EV again – in the first three months of this year, 1,668 copies were sold, which is incomparably more than in the same period of the previous year, when the General Motors sub-brand managed to sell only three cars.
In the course of 2023, the sales volume also increased rapidly and by the end of the year, the number of delivered Hummer EVs reached a very decent 3,260. This year’s pace is being maintained, so it is estimated that even more than 6,000 SUVs worth approximately 110,000 dollars could be sold by the end of the year.
Sales of GMC Hummer EV pickups began in late 2022. The approximately 4,500 kg Hummer EV is currently available in two variants: as a pickup and an SUV, is equipped with a 212 kWh battery and can travel up to 500 kilometers without additional charging.
Other General Motors electric car offerings are also reporting success. Sales of its Cadillac Lyriq rose 499 percent from 968 to 5,800, while Chevrolet sold 600 Blazer EVs and 1,061 Silverado EVs, while the Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV remained the automaker’s best-selling electric vehicle in the first quarter with 7,040 units sold, despite the production of the car was stopped already at the end of 2023.
