Latvian Football Federation (LFF) informs the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) that three points have been deducted from the Latvian Football Premier League team “Valmiera” for unpaid taxes.

Losing three points, “Valmiera” does not lose the fourth position at the moment, but the top three are four points away, or more than one victory away.

On Wednesday, the LFF Disciplinary Affairs Committee, after evaluating the information and documents submitted by “Valmieras”, found that the club has applied to the State Revenue Service (SRS) with a request for the voluntary execution of overdue tax payments within a certain period. Nevertheless, three points were deducted from the team, because the debts had to be fulfilled by April 30.

As of May 3 of this year, the tax debt of “Valmiera” was 188,328 euros, therefore the club still does not comply with paragraph 65 of the LFF Club Licensing Rules. LFF DK has also established that the debts owed to the employees of Valmiera, including the players, have been fulfilled in full. Also, the club has made a payment to the former player of the Valmiera team, Ruan Rodríguez, but the approval from the International Association of Football Federations (FIFA) has not yet been received.

As soon as the approval from FIFA is received, the ban on registration of new players will be lifted for “Valmiera”, which was imposed due to debts owed to the former footballer and current club employees, including players.
