The State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced that it had caught Russian agents in the State Security Service of Ukraine who were plotting the kidnapping and assassination of the president and other high-ranking state officials.
Without providing evidence, the SBU wrote: “The enemy was actively developing plans to eliminate President Volodymyr Zelensky. One of the tasks of the intelligence network of the Russian State Security Service (FSB) was to look for executioners among the military personnel close to the protection of the president, who could take the head of state hostage and later kill him. In addition, the enemy also planned to eliminate the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasilis Malyuk, the head of the State Administration of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, and other high-ranking officials.”
