By uniting five group companies under a single brand, “Stiga RM” currently operates in woodworking, logging, metalworking, as well as timber transportation and real estate development for the needs of employees. As the owner of the company, Andris Ramoliņš, notes, “Stiga RM” is a story about the desire to create an inspiring example that Latvian companies can successfully present themselves on the world business arena – to develop purposefully and be competitive: “We are proud to be a Latvian company and can proudly in the world of our country’s names,” he emphasizes.
Creates conditions for Latvia to be a country of producers of high-quality products

includes its goal and the company’s business philosophy, that Latvia should produce as many high value-added products in demand in the world as possible, and not engage in the export of raw forest or primitive processing products.
This is exactly what the company’s strategy has been for the past ten years: to modernize production, follow global trends, introduce new products and develop new production lines in order to offer the whole world quality products made in Latvia with added value. Currently, at the “Stiga RM” factory in Kuldīga, birch plywood is produced from Latvian high-quality birch wood, which is exported to more than 50 countries of the world, with the largest market in Germany, Great Britain and the USA.
In Tukuma in 2026, the world’s most modern wood chipboard acoustic board (WWCB) production plant will start its operation. On the other hand, “Stiga RM” announced its intention to develop one more – now the third wood processing factory, in April of this year, signing the contract for the purchase of the Ogre sawmill “Norupe”. After receiving the permission of the Competition Council, the company will be able to complete this transaction and implement the plan on the site of the existing sawmill, to build a new, modern, technologically advanced production plant of high-quality wood products in the next few years.
“It is a great satisfaction to take the first step outside the Kurzeme region and to develop operations in Vidzeme as well in the year of the anniversary, more widely applying the accumulated knowledge in the production of high added value products. Because we will be able to offer interesting and well-paid jobs in Latvia, more educated specialists will be interested in staying and not going to look for work abroad. In the future, too, we will use the opportunities to promote the development of Latvia’s woodworking industry, its competitiveness and increase in export volume, contributing to the prosperity of Latvia’s economy and population in general,” says Andris Ramoliņš.
