“Sinfonietta Rīga” will experience an ambitious concert together with the brilliant and revolutionary pianist Georgi Osokina. The festival will be opened by a special event – eight world premieres, new works by Latvian composers, combined in the concert program “Beads of Infinity”, performed by the Latvian Radio Choir under the direction of conductor Kaspars Putniņš.
On the evening of June 7, the “Riga Festival” will be opened by an ambitious concert in the Great Guild, where the Latvian Radio Choir under the artistic direction of Kaspars Putniņš will take the stage – world-class choral music stars whose performance has been recognized with the prestigious “Grammy” and classical music magazine “Gramophone” awards.
The collective’s latest concert program “Bezgalības krelles” consists of new works by eight Latvian composers of different generations with brightly imaginative texts created by Nora Ikstenas, which sing about the eight planets of the solar system. New works for the Latvian Radio Choir have been created by such composers as Arturs Maskats, Santa Ratniece, Anna Fišere, Mārtiņš Viļums, Platons Buravickis, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Juris Karlsons and Andris Dzenītis.
The next concert of the festival invites you to go to the Spīķeru concert hall on June 8 to enjoy a “Jazz evening with Matīsa Žilinski”. When the young pianist and composer plays with his experienced colleagues – double bass player Andri Grunti and drummer Arti Oruba – we will be able to immerse ourselves in the memories of childhood smells and tastes, feelings and adventures.
