Aid cargo prepared by donors is going to Ukraine / Article

--

The shipment provided by the “Gantt Fund” and their supporters to the defenders of Ukraine is so far the largest of those provided by the fund. This time, two cargo vans filled with goods, as well as equipped cars, including buses transformed into drone control centers, will go to Ukraine.

“The volume is quite large and so is the value. The value of these humanitarian shipments is quite impressive. More than 150,000 [eiro].

The carts will contain medical goods, which are also medical equipment,” said Ieva Ādamsone, the founder of the “Gant Foundation”.

The cargo also includes adult diapers, medical supplies for children, including incubators, as well as technical aids, such as wheelchairs. The recipients are Ukrainians well-known to the foundation, with whom the foundation has been working since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“We still have a full warehouse, these medical supplies would be enough for at least three more proper trips. Well, the only thing is that we need funds, travel money.

In order for one such cargo to leave, at least 2,500 euros are needed. So that we can cover the travel expenses at all,” admitted the founder of the “Gant Foundation”.

Costume artist Ieva Ādamsone, who is also the founder of the “Gant Foundation”, pointed out that every euro is important. She emphasized that there are many needs and they are needed now. All the goods included in the shipment have been requested by specific organizations, including army brigades they know. Before leaving, donors also came to see the shipment, thanks to whom such a trip can take place.

“Yes, I also want to touch myself, what it is and what has happened. (..) I’m glad that there is such a group and I’m glad for what I’ve done, and there will be more. Because everything depends on us,” said the donor Jānis Ronis.

“It turns out that my father is from Ukraine. He hasn’t seen me and I haven’t seen him. He died in the war. There’s something inside. And in general, we need to fight for humanitarian issues,” said donor Elvíra Bril.

The “Gant Foundation” together with many of its supporters are volunteers who are engaged in the organization of aid after working hours. For many, it has become a way of life, in which even the whole family is often involved.
