The municipality of Gulbene region invites the construction contractor SIA “8CBR” no later than May 15 to start repairing defects in the roundabout and on Brīvības Street.

On February 16, 2018, the municipality of Gulbene region and the construction contractor SIA “8 CBR”, based on the result of the open competition of the municipality, concluded a procurement contract “On the creation of a roundabout and reconstruction of Brīvības street from 67 Brīvības street to 106 Brīvības street”.

Construction works within the framework of the contract have been completed, and the facility was put into operation on January 10, 2020. According to the concluded contract, the warranty period for the performed works is 60 months from the date of commissioning of the facility. The warranty period has not yet expired.

“Dzirkstele” found out in the municipality that on September 20 of last year, the municipality, together with the representative of the construction contractor, drew up and signed a defect report for this object, which indicates the detected defects, which must be corrected by June 1 of this year.

But this year, when the municipality inspected the object after the winter season, it has found new defects – a settlement has formed in the footpath, deformations have formed in the railway crossings, there is a settlement in the asphalt surface in the rotation circle. Some of the defects are dangerous for traffic.

The municipality invites the construction contractor to start repairing these defects no later than May 15. In the event that the construction contractor does not start repairing the defects by May 15, the municipality will hire another person to repair the defects, in compliance with the regulatory acts regulating public procurement, and the construction contractor will have to cover the costs of repairing the defects, as stipulated in the contract. In addition, the municipality is entitled to use the warranty period security provided by the construction contractor to cover the costs of defect elimination.

“Dzirkstele” contacted SIA “8CBR”. The company promises that by May 15, the elimination of defects will be started.
