The Daugavpils Palace of Culture is equipped with a multimedia hall “Daugavpils Kino”, which will offer films and cartoons from the world’s leading film studios, as well as provide various events – conferences, educational programs, private screenings and other activities. The municipality plans to use the hall for the implementation of educational programs, holding public discussions, as well as neighborhood center events.
In more than 50 years, the Daugavpils Palace of Culture has undergone various changes, but it is still one of the largest concert halls in Latgale. Historically, the Palace of Culture of Chemists had a concert hall, a cinema and a lecture hall, 14 rehearsal rooms, a library with two reading rooms, halls for weightlifting and board games. All halls were equipped with modern lighting, stereo and cinema equipment.
On the other hand, this year the Daugavpils Palace of Culture returned to the cinema! Modern equipment and comfortable seats have been installed in the new multimedia hall, so that in the future the city’s residents and guests can enjoy domestic and international cinema news. The hall has 100 spectator seats, including seats for people with special needs.
“Daugavpils Kino” will operate every week from Friday to Sunday. The first public cinema screening will take place already on Friday, May 3, at 13.00 with the screening of the animated film “Kung Fu Panda 4”. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office of the Palace of Culture or online at www.bilesuparadize.lv.
