One of the world’s richest people, the American billionaire Warren Buffett, is known not only for his incredible financial well-being, but also for the fact that his wife’s roots can be traced to Latvia.

93-year-old Buffett’s wife is 78-year-old Astrid Menks, who was born in Latvia. Both have been in a relationship since 1978, but got married in 2006. Menks is Buffett’s second wife, as the first, Susan Thompson, died in 2004 after losing her battle with cancer.

Speaking of Susan and Astrid, one might wonder how Buffett could have been in another relationship while being married? It turns out that Susan had no objection to her husband having relationships with other women, moreover, she herself introduced Warren to Astrid at an event, because Susan was a singer and one evening, while the wife was playing music, the two started communicating. After all, this trio even had a good relationship and the two women did not mind having one man on both of them.

There is not much public information about Astrid. It is known that she was born in Latvia in 1946. At the age of five, she and her parents emigrated to the United States, where the family settled in the state of Nebraska.

Buffett himself has admitted that “all parties” were satisfied with the fact that he had two women in his life. Two years after Susan’s death, Astrid became his wife and no longer had to listen to accusations that she was just Buffett’s housekeeper.

Buffett’s company “Berkshire Hathaway” is currently worth 134 billion dollars. He has been one of the world’s richest people for many years, and he donates a large part of his money to charity.
