Swedbank reminds that from today, May 10, the daily banking services of more than 700,000 customers are now more profitable – from now on, payments to the accounts of other banks can be made without additional commission, making the payments more convenient and transparent.
Until now, customers were charged a monthly card fee of EUR 1.70 and an additional EUR 0.36 for each transfer to another bank’s account. From now on, the 1.70 euro payment will include both the payment card fee and 10 payments to other bank accounts. This service is automatically available to most Swedbank customers from May 10 this year.
“Although most of the payments are made by our customers within Swedbank, our data shows that 73% of customers make at least 1-2 payments per month to the accounts of other banks. Meanwhile, 20% make 3-5 payments, while 2% of our customers make even more than 10 such payments per month. This means that from now on almost 1 million Latvian residents will be able to make their daily payments without feeling the discomfort of EUR 0.36, which until now had to be paid for transfers outside Swedbank,” says Swedbank’s Head of Private Persons Department, Karina Kulberga.
The monthly fee has also been reduced for those customers who had previously connected the package with free transfers to other bank accounts – from EUR 2.20 to EUR 1.70 per month. Every Swedbank customer can check whether the set is connected in their internet bank.
