Crazy headline? A little bit. But it would all be true if you and I believed everything people wrote in the comments. Yes, I have read all these things about myself. No, none of that is true. However, hidden under anonymous names, people have said that I am the same one who overthrew a politician who swears and who is currently leaving work. No, none of that is true.

But this story will not be about me at all. I just wanted to flirt with its title, because these insights seem so absurd to me.

LA.LV always respects different opinions, which is why it is still possible to post a comment with us without registering. We believe that everyone has the right to express their opinion, discuss the topics covered in the articles.

OTHERS ARE CURRENTLY READING

I’ll admit that I rarely read comments on articles myself, but sometimes it happens. It happened to cry, to go through it, until at one point I decided that it was easier not to read.

I also talked about this with my colleague Inesi Supi the other day. I wonder how she lives with the comments? Inese said:

“If you have haters, you’re doing something right.”

A few days ago, I had prepared an article about Horen Stalbe’s health problems after the injuries sustained in the Dobele gas tank. During the writing of the article, I had a conversation with both Horen himself and Roja Pukis, who has undertaken the fundraising campaign. A few hours after the article was published, Roy wrote to me that good works have side effects… He had read the comments.

What else did Roy tell me?

“To say I’m shocked by the negative comments is an understatement. Of course, I do not live in illusions and I am not engaged in social projects of various scales for the first year. And, of course, I’ve also come across nasty comments, but this time the negativity is strikingly abundant.

The attack on Horen took place in the same country whose residents write the negative comments. I don’t understand how a request for help can be ridiculed and try to make fun of the victim.

Reading some of the comments makes me doubt if this is written by an adequate person! Where did so much negativity and blackness come from in our society? I do not understand! Mother Teresa said, “If you judge people, you don’t have time to love them.” I am amazed that people choose to belittle and judge instead of saying something good. I’m amazed that these people dedicate part of their lives to post an offensive comment. Well, if you don’t want to donate, pass by! If you don’t want to help, don’t respond!

But good people, thanks to the universe, we don’t lack either. I will not mention the amount we have already collected for Horen, he can find out for himself if he wants. I am proud that so many good and sincere people live in our society. I want to believe that they are in the majority.
Let’s love life, let’s love our neighbors and let’s love our fellow human beings too! There will be no less love from it, it will only increase.”

Discussions are necessary, I’m happy about them, but I think you’ve got a good idea of what I’m talking about right now. Would you be able to say what you write in the comments in real life, looking a person in the eye? Do you realize that the mothers, children, husbands, wives, friends of the people you insult are also reading the comments?

I invite you to constructive discussions and friendly coexistence!

And I invite you to discuss by e-mail as well. I always try to answer there, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the proposed topics and I am happy to communicate with you. If anything – [email protected]

PS Will I read the comments on this article? I don’t know yet…
PPS The anonymous environment is not as anonymous as we sometimes think.
