The new stamp will have 30,000 copies, while the envelope will have a circulation of 500 units. The nominal value of the stamp is 1.97 euros, which corresponds to the payment of letter correspondence in the weight category up to 100 grams in the territory of Latvia.
The author of the design of the philatelic editions is the artist Arta Ozola-Jaunarāja, who used the materials of the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum in the visual design of the stamps and envelopes.
The Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia is one of the oldest and largest open-air museums in Europe. It was created with the aim of preserving for future generations the evidence of the farmers’ way of life – the buildings, their life, as well as the location of the buildings in the farmer’s or fisherman’s homestead from the 17th century. until the 20th century average in different regions of Latvia.
