The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) has sent a request to the municipality of Gulbene region, asking it to inform the KNAB whether the municipality wants to be recognized as a victim in the criminal process, which is investigating criminal offenses related to the conversion of the former Birzu primary school into a center for creative initiatives. “Dzirksteli” was informed about this by Paula Vilsone-Milaševiča, head of KNAB’s Communication Department. She stated that the KNAB still has this criminal process in its records. During the investigation, information was obtained indicating that these possible criminal offenses could have caused damage to the municipality of Gulbene region. The reconstruction of the former Bërzu primary school building in Gulbene, as is known, is being commissioned by the municipality.
