Freedom Day is celebrated in Latvia
Today, May 4, is the 34th anniversary of the proclamation of the Declaration of the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia. It is celebrated throughout Latvia.
The day of celebration began with a church service and a military parade in Rezekne.
“Flower Latvia” was created from flowers at the Freedom Monument in Riga.
In honor of Latvia, people from all regions came to Riga in their national costumes. They took part in the march.
People said that this is the most beautiful holiday because nothing can be more beautiful than freedom.
In their holiday speeches, the officials also called to be proud and happy for the country and people.

Devastating victory for Latvia over Norwegian hockey players
The Latvian men’s hockey team defeated the Norwegian national team 8-0 today.

Today, May 4, the Latvian hockey legends game took place, in which the White and Red teams fought.
The red team was led by Aleksandrs Nizhivi, while the captain of the white team was Rodrigo Lavins.
The Red team won 8-7 in the shootout.
Both team captains have participated in more than 220 games in the Latvian national team.
