This summer there will be nine camps for the children of Gulbene region – Gulbene region – Dzirkstele.lv

Ten applications were received in the competition for camp projects announced by the Education Board of Gulbene region, where it was possible to apply for municipal co-financing for the organization of children’s camps in the summer of 2024.

The municipality of Gulbene region informs that after evaluating all the applications, a decision was made to support nine camps with funding.

1. “Mysteries of the School of Friends”

Getting to know the history of Druvien’s school through interesting stories, objects, and practical activities, learning new skills in various subjects by completing school assignments from the past year, learning creative skills in working with colors, paper, and natural materials.

2. “Following Clues 5”

An opportunity to get to know the county’s parish libraries, cultural and historical places, local enterprising people, get involved in outdoor activities. Five trips to the parishes of Lizum, Druvien, Galgauska, Jaungulbene and Ranka are planned during the camp.

3. “Take nature by the hand”

The opportunity to engage in diverse sports activities, improve knowledge about nature, ecology, sustainable lifestyle, participation.

4. “Nature Detective”

An opportunity to get acquainted with the natural and environmental objects of the immediate vicinity, supplement knowledge, learn new skills, be creative, research, discuss, participate in team games.

5. “Lost on the Hill 2024”

Getting to know the specifics of the work of the National Guard, State Border Guard, Latvian State Police, State Fire and Rescue Service. An opportunity to learn the skills of setting up a camp, orientation and survival in a forest area, working in a team, going on a hike.

6. “Sport, be happy 4”

An opportunity to meet, get to know each other and gain new experience in various sports, improve knowledge about sports and lead a healthy lifestyle.

7. “Playing, dancing!”

A closed camp for the members of the folklore group “Dzīpariņi” of the Ranka elementary school to improve their skills and knowledge in creative workshops, playing musical instruments, singing, storytelling and dance lessons, in preparation for the international folklore festival “Baltica 2025”, the traditional dance competition “Vedam danci 2025”, the storytellers’ competition “Teci , the language is flowing”.

8. “Attention, readiness, SUMMER!”

A closed camp for students of Tirza primary school, during which there will be nature lessons, activities in video creation and editing, creative visual plastic lessons, improvement of cooperation and practical skills.

9. “RELAX, EXERCISE, VISIT!”

Camp “Gulbenes Velo Fana” is closed for students of the BMX and cross-country skiing groups of Gulbenes Regional Children’s and Youth Sports School. All-round non-traditional training process in different places of Gulbene, Alūksne and Madona region combined with hiking, learning survival skills in the forest, excursions.
