How will the Latvian hockey team fare in the first world championship since the historic bronze medals? Will we experience new achievements, or will we have to come back down to earth? Uldis Strautmanis talks about this at 17:00 on the program “Aizmugure” with the coach of the Latvian U-18 national team, which has just won a successful championship in the elite division, Oļeg Sorokin. The 2024 championship will be held in Prague and Ostrava from May 10 to 26. The first opponents of the Latvian national team in subgroup B in Ostrava on May 11 at 17.20 will be the Polish national team, which competed in the first division last year and returned to the elite after a 22-year break. Then on May 12 Latvia will meet France, May 14 Kazakhstan, May 15 Germany, May 18 Sweden, May 19 Slovakia, and May 21 USA.
