The new season of the “Fiz-Kul-Tūre” series of running, clubbing and cycling in the Valmiera district will begin with the charity stage in Valmiera on May 1. Let’s join the charity goal of the annual Riga-Valmiera run and invite everyone to run a symbolic distance of 1.07 km or 10.7 km.
The start of the 1st stage of the Fiz-Kul-Tour will be at 18.30 on Ziloņu street, near the art object “Krodera apple”, but the finish, like the 107 km Riga-Valmiera race, is symbolically at Valmiera St. Simon’s Church. The race participation fee will be a donation to this year’s selected association “Sadzirdēt”, which unites parents whose families have a child or young person with a disability in Valmiera region.
Currently, nine families are active in the association “Sadžirdēt”. The chairman of the association’s board Inese Lice says: “Every family is like a house – so different in its size and other things. Parents are the foundation of this house. In order for the house to exist and be a safe haven, the foundation must be stable and strong. That is why the association “Hear” was born. , because together it is always easier. The goals of the association are to educate, to move out of the daily routine and to be an informative and mutual support for parents whose daily lives are subordinated to a child with special needs. Together we can prevent not only our own, but also the neighbor’s house from collapsing.”
We invite everyone on May 1, which is celebrated as Labor Day in Latvia, to do a real heartwork and join the races, supporting fellow human beings who need it the most! Every step taken, every kilometer traveled and every donation will help families from the association “Sadžirdēt” to improve their everyday lives and realize their dreams.
In order to participate in the charity stage, participants must fill out the application form in advance, which can be found on the website valmierasnovads.lv, and make a donation of a freely chosen amount to the bank account of the association “Sadzirdēt” (LV31HABA0551055962833) by the day of the competition, May 1. Proof of donation will be required upon registration on the day of the event.
It should be mentioned that the previous years’ Riga-Valmiera finishers from Valmiera district will also take part in the charity run, as well as participants who plan to take part in the 107 km long run for the first time this year, which is also called the “gladiator’s walk”.
