BK “Madona”/BJSS, which won 22 games in a row, and BK “Roja”, which took 2nd place in the Western group and 6th place in the overall rating, reached the finals of the Aizdevums.lv regional league.
BK “Madona”/BJSS (1.) – “East-Ball”/RTDP (4.) 2:0
In the first game, the Madonians won 81:62 (22:15, 44:32, 60:51). In the middle of the third quarter, the people of Riga reduced the score difference to 50:44, but in the continuation, the people of Madonia were decisively better. For the winners Edijs Skuja scored 21 points, Jānis Mednis 18, Mikus Sokolovs 17 (8 assists, 8 rebounds). Kaspars Ivanovs scored 19 points for Riga.
Also in the second match in Riga, “Madona” dominated, inflicting a convincing loss on the hosts – 59:93 (18:21, 34:52, 42:61). Eddy Skuja scored 21 points for the winners, Egons Baumanis scored 20. Jaroslavs Pivovarovs scored 13 points for Riga players.
BK “Roja” (6th) – BK “Jaunpils” (7th) 2:1
In the quarter-finals, both teams knocked out the teams that had won the Western and Central groups in the main tournament, respectively.
In the first match between them in Roja, the hosts gained an advantage in the first half, which they defended in the second – 82:66 (20:15, 44:28, 60:44). For the winners, Klāvs Pitkēvičs scored 26 points, Ralfs Tipāns 13. For the Jaunpils team, Daniels Minajevs scored 20 points, Agris Dulbinskis 17.
In the second match in Jaunpilis, the home team lost at first, but by the time of the break, they recovered and gained a decisive lead in the third quarter, leveling the score in the series – 82:61 (17:26, 38:37, 66:46). For the winners, Agris Dulbinskis scored 20 points, Mareks Doroshkevičs 17, Edgars Kokin 17. Klaavs Pitkēvičs scored 15 points, Įrts Pommers 14 for the Roja team.
Also in the third game, the fight went point to point for two and a half quarters, but then the home team gained the initiative and the advantage. BK “Roja” won with 89:74 (15:20, 36:38, 60:52). For the winners, Klāvs Pitkēvičs scored 26 points and won 10 balls, Aivis Lēmanis 21+1- rebounds, Įrts Pommers 18. For the Jaunpils team, Uvis Strogonovs scored 28 points, Mareks Doroshkevics 16.
