When going to the Kurzeme side, drivers should expect that construction work has already started on several road sections there and traffic restrictions have been introduced, so they should plan additional time on the road, informs VSIA “Latvijas valsts ceļi” (LVC).

On the Kurzeme side, construction work has begun on the section of the Kandava-Saldus (P109) highway from Zemīte to Kapukrog, where the speed limit is set to 50 kilometers per hour (km/h). The estimated time of crossing this section is 35-40 minutes.

The section of the Tukums-Kuldīga (P121) road near Zemīte is also being repaired. There, too, the speed limit is 50 km/h.

On the other hand· on the section of the road Ventspils-Kolka (P124) from Ventspils to Liepene, traffic is regulated by traffic lights in two sections, but the speed limit has been introduced to 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated crossing time of the repair work section is 25 minutes.

The LVC also warns that there may be slow traffic in Pieriga this afternoon, due to the desire of people to spend the Easter holidays outside the capital.

Also, drivers should remember that on gravel roads, especially in Vidzeme and Latgale, transport mass restrictions still remain in many places due to the solvent.

All current traffic restrictions on national highways are marked on the map available on the LVC website.
