Russian actress who hosted “almost naked” party fined in court over Instagram photos

Recall that Anastasia Ivleeva caused an explosion of outrage in Putin’s Russia when she hosted a party in December, encouraging guests to wear next to nothing. For example, a well-known rapper appeared only in socks (3 pieces in total).

Photos from the party went viral on social media. Conservative lawmakers, bloggers and others then sparked a firestorm of criticism, saying the images were inappropriate and even unpatriotic for a country at war. More here.

Now a Moscow court has fined the socialite 50,000 rubles (about €520), saying her social media posts calling for peace discredit the military.

Ivleeva was fined for two social media posts calling for peace and talks in the early days of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The court found him guilty of discrediting the military, although the law was passed several days after the posts on social networks.
