Big hopes is a composition created ten years ago, when the life of the musician Jānis Šipkēvics underwent several significant changes in both his professional and private life. Now, after ten years, Jānis has decided to call together the musicians with whom he played at that time, recording the songs created at that time. “It so happened that in the spring of 2014 we met, lived together in my house, played a lot of music, swam, hung out together, at the very beginning of the summer we played a concert in Zielmeblázma Milk festival time, but we did not record anything from that time. It’s good that at the beginning of this year, our troupe’s comma was removed, which will continue with many points in two events in June,” says Jānis about the upcoming album opening concerts.

With Shipsea’s concerts on June 6 and 7, the season of concert events will be opened at KK Von Strick’s villa – a place that has been very important for Shipsea’s ongoing creative work.

At concerts Big hopes pieces such as A girl from my class, Mežaparks, as well as the recently released single I Carry Your Heart. The best songs from the album will also be played Enlighten me, which was recognized as Record of the Year in 2022. Together with Jānis Šipkēvics, such musicians as Ivars Arutjunjans, Rūdolfls Macats, Elizabeta Lāce, Lennarts Heindels and Sven Vilsons will take the stage.
