The professional brass band “Daugava” of Vienības nama Latvian and Latvian Cultural Center takes part in the concert. (hosted by Arnold Greenbert) and soloists: Yuriy Murnikov (clarinet, saxophone)Ruslans Margevich (clarinet)Marat Zaletilo (trombone)Ojārs Tūmins (trumpet)Gints Ratnieks (trumpet) and Arnold Greenbert (clarinet, saxophone).
Benny Goodman – American jazz clarinetist and leader of a jazz orchestra, known as the “king of swing”. Born on May 30, 1909, died on June 13, 1986. He achieved particular success in the thirties of the 20th century. With the Goodman Orchestra’s concert on January 16, 1938 at Carnegie Hall, New York, jazz went from pure “entertainment music” to “serious music”.
Tickets: at the box office of the concert hall of the Unity House (weekdays at 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.). The price is 7.00 euros.
