The original British adventure brand Defender will launch a new high-performance all-terrain vehicle in 2024, the new Defender OCTA. The new Defender flagship will be the most durable, powerful and luxurious model and will allow the Defender brand to conquer new market territory.

Mark Cameron, Managing Director, Defender: “The Defender is synonymous with off-road driving, dating back to the 1948 Series 1. The Defender OCTA takes it to a new level with an imposing stance, innovative technology and amazingly carefully crafted details. With amazing performance and a bold new attitude, it will allow our customers to embark on even wilder adventures with even more impressive luxury.”

The Defender OCTA will be equipped with a V8 Twin Turbo mild hybrid petrol engine and class-leading 6D Dynamics air suspension for extreme off-road performance. The 6D Dynamics system will provide Defender OCTA with unprecedented capabilities, comfort and stability both on and off-road.

The hydraulically connected 6D Dynamics technology includes innovative longitudinal and lateral stability control, which will keep the Defender OCTA almost unchanged body position during acceleration, braking and cornering on the road, as well as maximize the wheel travel of the independent suspension on the most difficult off-road.

The name OCTA comes from the octahedron or octahedron shape of the diamond, which reflects the luxury characteristics of the car – diamond is the hardest naturally occurring substance on Earth and famous as a precious stone.

The Defender flagship is now adorned with a new diamond-shaped signature. It appears on several interior and exterior details, including as a glossy black diamond in a machined and sandblasted titanium disc on each Signature Graphic panel. Titanium is also chosen because it is durable and resistant to the effects of nature.

Mark Cameron says: “The Defender OCTA name and signature is a testament to the strength, durability and appeal of this car. What’s more, the new signature is also particularly significant as it will be seen for the first time on this Defender, but will grace all Defender flagships from now on.”

The Defender OCTA has experienced the toughest development conditions in Defender’s history – from the snow and ice of Sweden to the Dubai desert, from the asphalt of the Nürburgring to the rocky trails of Moab.

Ahead of the flagship’s official unveiling, potential buyers will be invited to attend exclusive preview events as part of the new global Defender Elements range. Customers interested in registering for the first release of Defender OCTA are encouraged to contact their Defender representative now.
