The report of the UN experts is about the “Hvason-11” short-range ballistic missile, the wreckage of which was found after the Russian attack on the city of Kharkiv on January 2.

If it is confirmed that Russia has indeed received ballistic missiles from North Korea, then Russia will have violated the sanctions against North Korea supported by the UN Security Council in 2006.

Ukraine and the West have previously claimed that Russia has received large quantities of artillery shells and missiles from North Korea. In February, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that the Russian Armed Forces had fired more than 20 North Korean missiles into Ukraine since the end of last year.

North Korean missile attacks have killed at least 24 civilians and seriously injured more than a hundred others.

Moscow denies that it receives weapons from North Korea. However, last year Russia and North Korea signed an agreement on deepening military cooperation.

Meanwhile, the publication “Financial Times”, citing high-ranking Ukrainian intelligence officials, reported that Russia could launch a new large-scale offensive in late May or early June.

On the other hand, the German media “Bild”, referring to a source in the Ukrainian army, wrote that the country’s second largest city, Kharkiv, could be attacked by 20,000 to 40,000 Russian soldiers. In that case, Ukraine would have to make a difficult choice whether to defend the north or the east of the country.
