This film is a part of the “MonsterVerse” – a single cinematic universe in which both the aforementioned monsters and other beasts live. The film, of course, does not lack the fight between the two title characters, which was appreciated by both viewers and critics as exciting entertainment. The following “MonsterVerse” movies are available on LMT Smart TV: “Godzilla” (dir. Garrett Edwards, 2014), “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (dir. Michael Doherty, 2019) and “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021) and “Kong: Skull Island ” (2017).

Frank Herbert’s science fiction epic “The Dune” was considered for a long time as an unfilmable work. The story touches on both an intergalactic political struggle for the priceless resource gap that is the cornerstone of this world’s governing system, and the story of the high-born Atreides family, including the rise of a young boy, Paul, to become the leader of the entire galaxy.

In 1974, the challenge was first accepted by the Chilean-born avant-garde director of Ukrainian origin Alejandro Khodorovsky, whose vision for the screen adaptation of “The Grave” envisaged a 14-hour long material, but the list of actors included both his own son and such film legends as Orson Welles and Alain Delon. In addition, rock star Mick Jagger and artist Salvador Dali were also slated for roles. The soundtrack should be provided by the rock band Pink Floyd. True, Khodorovsky’s vision was thwarted by the inevitable lack of money, and with that the ambitions of creating a potential box office blockbuster ended.

For some time, Ridley Scott, a director and producer who has gained fame as a master of box office hits over time, was attached to the potential adaptation of “Kāpas”. However, in the end, another visionary, David Lynch, did the job in 1984. Unfortunately, the film did not earn the love of either the audience or the critics, and Lynch himself has since distanced himself from his performance.
