The media communication representative of “Balticom” could not provide further comments to the “tv3.lv” portal at the given moment, but promised to provide such comments after checking the information.

Similarly, the representative of “Cert.lv” who was called by “tv3.lv” stated that at the given moment no news had been received about any attack on the “Balticom” network, but said to check the incoming information.

A similar situation with channel hacking and malicious channel switching has happened before, not long ago.

During the 20-minute live broadcast on the Ukrainian channel “Freedom”, music by Russian artists was played and propaganda clips of the occupiers were broadcast.

A viewer of the channel also captured the event on video. It shows that the live broadcast is interrupted and the message “TV channel is unavailable due to technical reasons” appears on the screen. After a short while, the channel plays songs by Russian artists and shows footage of various events in Russia, including military content.
