Britain’s King Charles III celebrated the first anniversary of his coronation on Monday.

However, no official events are planned as the anniversary comes less than a week after the king returned to public duties after being diagnosed with cancer.

He visited other cancer patients at a London hospital on Tuesday after doctors said they were “very pleased” with his progress.

The 75-year-old monarch, who has not revealed what type of cancer he has, also wanted to mark the day with a minimum of “fuss” given the link between his position and the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who crowned King Charles at Westminster Abbey a year ago, praised his “sense of duty”.

“The past year has brought great personal challenges for the King. But I am impressed by his continued sense of duty as he recently returned to royal duties after treatment,” Welby said.

In the “Ipsos” survey, which was conducted on the order of the “Daily Mail” newspaper, the personal popularity rating of King Charles increased slightly to 56%.

His son and heir Prince William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, were the most popular members of the royal family with 69%, up 8-10% from last April.
