“Der Spiegel” reminds that two-thirds of Americans believe that the 81-year-old Biden is too old to lead the United States for another four years. Former President Donald Trump, who is not much younger than Biden and spends several days a week in court on charges of paying “hush money” to porn actress Stormy Daniels, is also not appealing to many.
The presidential election in the USA is scheduled for November 5, 2024. This year’s Democratic Party favorite is Biden, while Trump is expected to represent the Republicans.
The accusations against Trump are related to illegal payments to Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen, who in turn used the money to pay Daniels to stop speaking publicly about the fact that she had a sexual relationship with Trump in 2006.
The “hush money” was paid to Daniels during the 2016 presidential election campaign.
Trump denies the charges.
The trial was supposed to start on March 25, but was postponed at the request of Trump’s lawyers and the prosecution.
