A major war between the Russian Federation and the members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) could begin this year. Such a statement was published by the Russian “Telegram” channel “Кремлевская табакерка”, referring to its sources in the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.

At the same time, the mentioned “Telegram” channel indicates that the source names 2025-2027. year as the most likely period for the start of a major war between the Russian Federation and NATO. Such a document with the forecast of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, as specified by the resource, was handed over to the owner of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, reports Dialog.ua.

At the same time, one of the interlocutors told the “Telegram” channel that the experts have given recommendations to prepare for a serious military clash with the West, which is possible already: “Because we will give an answer about the transfer of weapons to Kyiv and the rest of the assistance provided by Great Britain, the United States and everyone else. And what if they don’t have enough patience and they give us an “answer”. However, we consider the possibility of hostilities with NATO to be low this year.

As for the announced years 2025-2027, then according to the published information, “the conflict with a high degree of probability will start exactly on these dates”.

Much depends on “how and when we complete the ‘special operation’,” according to another intelligence source. But on this issue, according to the source, “everything is shrouded in fog.”

It should be noted that Bundeswehr Lieutenant General Carsten Breuer previously stated that the Russian Federation has increased the production of military equipment, but not all of the production is used in the war against Ukraine. According to him, within five to eight years, Russia could rebuild its army after the losses experienced in the war against Ukraine and potentially launch an attack on NATO countries, reports Reuters.

“That’s why we have to be ready in 2029,” said Lt. Gen. Breuer clarified: it cannot be said that an attack by the Russian Federation on allies will definitely happen, but NATO countries should keep this scenario in mind.
