In the second leg of the semi-final, Dortmund beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 (0-0) and won 2-0 over two matches.

It is significant that the Parisians hit the goalpost four times in this match, two of them at the end of regular time.

On Wednesday, the second finalist will be determined in the duel between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The first match between these teams ended in a draw 2:2.

“Borussia” has reached the final for the third time in its history. In 1997, it won the title, beating Turin’s “Juventus” 3:1 in the final, but in 2013, it lost 1:2 to “Bayern” in the title match.

The first half passed in an active game, but without dangerous shots on goal.

Early in the second half, Warren Zaire-Emery had a shot at the corner of the goal, the ball hitting the post. A little later, in the 50th minute, after a corner kick, Mats Hummels got rid of the cover and headed the ball into the goal – 1:0 in the match and 2:0 in total.

Towards the middle of the second half, Nunu Mendes hit the same right-hand post as Zaire-Emery with a long-range shot. Four minutes before the end of regular time, following a mistake by Borussia goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, Kylian Mbappe made a shot, the ball ricocheting off the crossbar.

After a few more minutes, Vitor Ferreira or Vitinja, who made a shot from a distance, cleared the crossbar.

The Parisians started the match with 20-year-old centre-back Lucas Beralda, the Brazilian replacing Lucas Hernandez, who suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in the first leg.

In attack, PSG team had Kylian Mbappe on the left side, Gonzalo Ramos in the center, and Usman Dembele on the right side. Dortmund had Niklas Filkrug, the only goal scorer of the first match, in front of the attack, while Jadon Sancho and Karim Adeyemi worked on the wings.

32 teams played in the main tournament of the Champions League. The two best teams of each subgroup made it to the round of 16, while the third-placed team continued their season in the UEFA Europa League elimination tournament.

The final will be held on June 1, 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London.

Manchester City won the Champions League last season, beating Italian club Inter Milan 1-0 in Istanbul, winning the competition for the first time.
