Sergei Zhirnov, a former employee of the State Security Committee of the USSR (KDK) and the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, told Channel 24 that Putin is very angry about the US decision to provide financial aid to Ukraine.

Zhirnov pointed out that Russia has reacted hysterically to the US decision to approve aid to Ukraine. It understood that this would happen and mentally prepared for it, but the Kremlin hoped that the political battle between Joe Biden and Donald Trump would drag on for a long time – until the US elections on November 5, 2024.

“Putin had hoped that no help would be given to Ukraine. But the Kremlin was unexpectedly voted for it. The psychological impact of this decision is already felt,” he emphasized.

“Putin’s inauguration was already ruined by the very fact that aid to Ukraine was voted for,” Zhirnov said.

A KGB officer assumes that drone strikes on the Kremlin may be carried out during Putin’s inauguration, as happened on May 3, 2023.

“It will be funny if Putin drives his armored car to the Kremlin and drones fly there,” said the former KGB and Russian Foreign Intelligence Service officer.

Putin’s inauguration in Russia is scheduled for May 7, 2024.

It has already been reported that US President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday that he signed a package of bills that includes military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 61 billion US dollars.

Biden said that the United States will start sending military aid to Ukraine within a few hours.

The US Department of Defense announced that it is beginning to supply weapons to Kyiv.

“This is the 56th piece of equipment that the Biden administration is providing to Ukraine from the stocks of the Ministry of Defense from August 2021. This package is valued at $1 billion and includes funds to meet Ukraine’s most urgent needs, including air defenses, artillery shells, armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons,” the Pentagon said in a statement.

The new package will include, among other things, missiles for RIM-7 and AIM-9M air defense systems, missiles for man-portable air defense systems “Stinger”, small arms and ammunition, including ammunition for combating drones, ammunition systems HIMARS, 155 millimeter and 105 millimeter artillery shells , Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, high-precision aviation ammunition, anti-personnel mines, night vision devices and other equipment.

“This package will allow the transfer of ammunition, weapons and equipment to support Ukraine’s ability to protect its frontline, protect its cities and resist ongoing Russian attacks,” the Pentagon said.

The package of bills was approved by the upper house of the US Congress, the Senate, on Tuesday night, but on Saturday, after months of delay, it was passed by the Republican-controlled lower house of Congress, the House of Representatives, where it was supported by 310 members of the House of Representatives and 112 opposed. It passed the Democratic-controlled Senate on Tuesday by a vote of 79 to 18.
