Airplanes used by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov are equipped with electronics supplied by the French company “PGA”.

The equipment supplied by the French company enables secure and reliable communications with mobile phones used by Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin, Security Council chief Dmitry Medvedev and other high-ranking officials.

Despite Western sanctions, the company’s business with Russia has continued and even expanded.

A complex scheme was used to circumvent the sanctions, including routing money and shipments through various other countries, including Armenia and the United Arab Emirates.

These findings once again raise concerns about the effectiveness of Western sanctions against Russia. The European Union is now looking to introduce the 14th round of sanctions against Russia, and careful consideration is being given to exactly how to combat the evasion of sanctions by many Western companies.
