“Troops have completed precise operational activity in the vicinity of al-Shifa Hospital and have left the vicinity of the hospital,” the Israeli army said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the operation at Gaza’s biggest hospital as a “big success” on Sunday night. He said more than 200 terrorists had been killed and hundreds had surrendered in a “precise and surgical” military operation.

The Israeli army described the raid on al-Shifa hospital as one of the most successful operations in the nearly half-year war. During that time, several high-ranking officers of the Palestinian militant group “Hamas” were eliminated, weapons were confiscated and valuable intelligence information was obtained.

Local residents report extensive damage to the hospital complex. The World Health Organization estimates that at least 21 patients died at the hospital during the operation.

On March 18, Israeli soldiers entered Al Shifa Hospital to conduct an operation against the Palestinian terrorist organization “Hamas” and its infrastructure.

The Israeli army already carried out an operation in al-Shifa hospital in November, sparking international condemnation as many people sought refuge in the hospital complex.

After the November 15 operation, Israel announced that weapons and other military equipment were found in al-Shif, as well as a 55-meter long tunnel in the basement. Israel also released a video showing evidence of alleged hostages being held in the hospital’s basement.

The Israeli army has repeatedly accused Hamas of conducting military operations from hospitals and other medical facilities. The militant group does not deny it.

UN estimates show that 155 health care facilities have been damaged in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.

In the massacre organized by “Hamas” in Israel on October 7 of last year, terrorists murdered about 1160 people, mostly civilians, and took about 250 hostages. Hamas still holds 130 hostages, of whom Israel believes 33 are dead.

In response to the October 7 massacre, Israel expressed its determination to destroy “Hamas” and launched a large-scale military operation in the Gaza Strip.
