Five people were killed and more than 30 injured in a Russian missile attack on Odesa / Article

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine and city mayor Hennady Trukhanov informed that three women and one man were killed. Local authorities say another person died of a stroke allegedly caused by the Russian attack.

Among the injured are two children – a five-year-old girl and a 16-year-old teenager.

Most of the victims were simply walking along the Black Sea coast at the time of the attack.

Oleh Kiper, the head of the military administration of the Odesa region, said that the strike was carried out by a ballistic missile on one of the favorite recreation areas of the city’s residents and visitors, where parents walked with children and many people played sports.

There is also evidence that the missile used in the strike was equipped with cluster munitions, normally used for frontline attacks. However, in Odessa, the strike was directed against civilian infrastructure, including a sports complex, in the vicinity of which there have never been military facilities.

Photos were published on social networks showing the bodies of those killed on the path leading to the beach. The dog, which the owner had taken for a walk, was also killed in the attack.

Significant damage was also done to the Student Palace of the Law Academy, which is called Harry Potter’s Palace because of its unusual shape. A fire broke out in it.

The Russian army continues to devastate other Ukrainian cities as well, and on Monday evening several guided air bombs hit civilian objects in and around Kharkiv. In the center of the region, one apartment building was damaged and one person was injured. On the other hand, several private houses were destroyed in the neighboring villages.

Meanwhile, the residents of the occupied Crimean peninsula reported on social networks at night about the explosions that allegedly took place in Simferopol and Dzhankoya.

Social media users also claimed that anti-aircraft defense systems had repelled the rocket attacks, but this has not been confirmed by the occupation authorities. After the explosions, traffic over the Crimean bridge, which connects the peninsula with Russian territory, was stopped for about an hour.
