Therefore, a decision was made to remove General Gromadzynski from the post of Eurocorps commander, the ministry announced, adding that he was ordered to return to Poland immediately.
The Eurocorps, whose task is to manage and coordinate multinational operations, was established in 1992 at the initiative of Germany and France, and since then Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and Poland have also joined the unit. In 2023, Gromadziński took over the command of Eurocorps for two years on a rotating basis.
The ministry did not provide further details about Gromadziński’s case, but added that the decision was made after the intelligence service obtained new information about the general.
The ministry has indicated that another officer will be appointed immediately to replace Gromadziński in order to ensure the continuity of the Eurocorps command.
Before assuming the post of Eurocorps commander, Gromadziński was an advisor to the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army.
In recent months, he was also a member of the International Ukraine Support Team deployed in Wiesbaden, Germany. Together with his US colleagues, he was responsible for the training of Ukrainian soldiers.
