Eating out can be quite expensive for a large family. A group of eight had come to dine at the Bella Ciao Italian Port Talbot restaurant in Swansea, UK. The family had a meal worth 329 British pounds and left without paying, reports “The Sun”.
According to the restaurant’s representatives, the large family feasted on delicious food and drinks, including steaks, desserts and a dozen soft drinks.
For what they ate and drank, the family owed the restaurant 328 British pounds. By the time the bill was due, the family was gone.
The family’s behavior seemed strange to the restaurant staff even at the moment when there was no sign that they would leave without paying. Employees say that when ordering food, they only ate half of the contents of their plates and sent the rest back to the kitchen. “They ordered the most expensive things on the menu, like T-bone steaks and stuff like that.”
According to the employees, the mother tried twice to pay the bill with the card without success. When that failed, she said she would use another card. She mentioned that she would go after the other card and told her son to wait at the restaurant. After a moment, the son received a phone call and ran out the door of the restaurant.
In an effort to track down the rogue customers, the restaurant manager called the number listed on the reservation, only to find that such a number did not exist.
The management of the restaurant has contacted the law enforcement officers to find the dishonest visitors.
