SIA “Civitta Latvija” invites researchers, students and startup enthusiasts to participate in the European Union (EU)-funded challenge “Green Alternatives for European Autonomy”, LETA agency was informed by company representatives.

The company states that the program is designed to promote innovative solutions that support European energy autonomy.

Participants can apply individually or in a team with or without an existing business idea. Authors of the best business ideas will be able to win cash prizes, as well as company start-up services worth up to 30,000 euros.

During the challenge, regional innovation competitions will be held in eight European countries, including Serbia, Slovakia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Greece.

The challenge is divided into three stages – initial regional competitions with an ideation phase, an incubation period with an interregional competition and an accelerator and start-up establishment.

Participants can apply for the challenge until May 12 of this year.

The challenge “Green Alternatives for European Autonomy” is aligned with the European Green Deal, which aims to address the continent’s energy challenges through innovation and sustainable development. The project is supported by funding from the EU research and innovation program “Horizon 2020”.

“Civitta Latvija” was registered in 2011, and its share capital is 5,645 euros, according to “Firmas.lv” data. The owners of the company are Estonian “Civitta International” (51%) and Lithuanian “Entra Holdings” (49%).
