Vanderbilt baseball score updates vs. Mississippi State in SEC series

Vanderbilt baseball will welcome Mississippi State to Hawkins Field for the first time since 2021 for a weekend series.

The Commodores (30-11, 10-8 SEC) have quite a bit of history with the Bulldogs (27-14, 10-8). Vanderbilt has won eight of its last nine regular-season games against Mississippi State, but the Commodores dropped two of three in the 2018 super regional to the Bulldogs and then lost two of three again in the national championship series in 2021.

Vanderbilt also won an SEC Tournament matchup between the two in 2019.

Last season, the Commodores swept the Bulldogs in Starkville, but Mississippi State is much improved this season after missing the SEC Tournament each of the past two years.

Vanderbilt will be without left-hander JD Thompson as he serves a four-game suspension for use of a foreign substance that caused him to be ejected from Saturday’s series finale against Florida.

Vanderbilt has won 13 consecutive home series, including six sweeps. The Commodores are 23-4 at home this season.
