Veterans Patriks Turesen and Mats Zuccarello have also been included in the Norwegian hockey team for this year’s World Championship, the Norwegian Hockey Federation reports.

For the 40-year-old Turesen, who continued to represent the domestic team “Storhamar” this season, this will be the 12th world championship, the tenth of which in the elite division, but the last time the striker wore the national team shirt in the world championships was five years ago.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old Zuccarello, who is still playing effectively in the National Hockey League (NHL), will participate in the world championships for the fifth time and for the first time since 2016. This season, the forward scored 63 (12+51) points in 69 games for the Minnesota Wild in the NHL, but in total, the forward played 835 games in the world’s strongest league over 14 seasons and accumulated 636 (198+438) points.

The head coach of the national team, Tubias Johansson, has included several very young players in the national team alongside the veterans – 18-year-old defenseman Stiana Sulberg, who is expected to go in the second round of this year’s NHL draft, his peer in the attack, Mikael Branseg-Nigor, and 19-year-old Noah, who made his debut at the World Championship last year. This year, the world championship will take place in the Czech cities of Prague and Ostrava from May 10 to 26.

Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Norway and Switzerland will compete in Prague in subgroup A, while Latvia, USA, Germany, Sweden, France, Kazakhstan and Poland will compete in Ostrava in subgroup B.
