The Latvian national team has played six official matches with Poland, celebrating victories in five, but the only loss was experienced in the preparatory stage about a year ago – 3:5. Oskars Lapinskis, Rihards Melnalksnis and Jānis Jaks scored goals for the Latvian national team.
The 35-year-old striker scored two goals in the already mentioned match Christian Jubinski, who was recognized as the best striker of the 2023 World Division 1 Group A (in 6 matches, 5+11). He will be in the lineup this year as well. Of the players registered in the national team, the absolute majority play in the local championship, the Czech Extraliga and the German DEL2 championship are also represented.
It is worth highlighting the striker, the most productive striker of the Polish Championship Patrick Wronka, who collected 55 points (19+36) in 39 matches for the Novi Targa “Podhale” club. The Polish goalkeeper is also worth highlighting John Murray, who is naturalized. He also plays in the Polish championship every day. In general, it should be concluded that the core of the national team is well-matched and experienced, but without the practice of top-level games, the Polish championship in Europe is not among the strongest.

One would like to believe that it will happen, but the Polish national team will very likely have to go back one level lower and grow their muscles there.
