The playoffs continued last night in the National Hockey League (NHL). In the seventh game of the first-round series of the Western Conference, the Dallas Stars beat the Vegas Golden Knights 2-1, winning the series 4-3.
In the second half of the first period, 20-year-old Star forward Wyatt Johnston capitalized on a mistake by the Gold Knights’ defenders in his own defensive zone to score the first goal for Dallas. It took more than 20 minutes for the Golden Knights to fight back, as Brett Hovden got the equalizer late in the second period. Meanwhile, “Stars” Czech striker Radek Faksa scored the winning goal in the first minute of the final 20 minutes of regular time.
Meanwhile, the first game of the second round was played in the Eastern Conference. In it, the New York Rangers beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
Mika Zibanejad stood out in the Rangers team with two goals and one assist, while Artemis Panarins and Vincent Trochek, who also had one assist, were accurate. Defender Jacob Slavin, as well as forwards Martin Nechas and Seth Jarvis scored for the opponents with accurate shots.
