Daniils Bobrovs achieved one of the most valuable results of the Latvian championship in the 100-meter breaststroke. Moreover, it was done in the first session of the day. In the preliminaries, he improved his national record, which he set seven years ago. Bobrov finished his swim after one minute and 02.12 seconds. In the final, his performance was two tenths slower, but this did not threaten his path to the Latvian championship title.

Among the high-quality results on the first day, we should highlight Nikolas Deichmans, who finished in 200 meters on the back in 02:02.34 min. On the other hand, Elizabete Paula Ozola won for women.
The first day of the Latvian championship ended with the 4×100 meters relay swimming. In the women’s competition, the Rīdzene team won the championship, while the Jelgava Specialized Swimming School won the men’s competition. More than 400 swimmers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Great Britain participate in the 99th Latvian championship. The competition in the Ķipsala swimming pool will last until the 6th.
