Latvian basketball player Paula Strautmane will not continue to play in Mechelen’s “Kangoeroes” next season, the team announced on Friday.

It has already been reported that last week Strautmane and “Kangoeroes” beat “Castors” of Brena 2-0 in the series, the Mechelen team won the Belgian championship title for the third season in a row.

The team from Mechelen finished the main tournament of the Belgian championship with 20 victories and also succeeded in all matches in the elimination battles, ending the season without losses. “Kangoeroes” also competed in the FIBA ​​EuroCup this season, where they did not make it past the first round of the playoffs. Strautmane averaged nine points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists in nine games.

Before joining the Belgian champion, the Latvian basketball player represented the Spanish club “Cadi La Seu” for the previous two seasons, and one more season before that she played for the “Pecs” team in Hungary. From 2015 to 2019, Strautmane defended the honor of Quinnipiac University in the National Collegiate Sports Association (NCAA), and in the 2019/2020 season, the basketball player represented the “TTT Riga” team, which also played in the FIBA ​​Euroleague.
