Olympian Upelnieks and Jurgenovskis the elder win in Latvian Cup stand shooting in the 1st stage – Other sports – Sportacentrs.com

Dainis Upelnieks won the round stand, shooting 69 plates in the main competition, and 53 in the final. Valdis Kalējs took second place (70 plates in the main competition, 45 plates in the final). In the overall ranking, the junior athlete Robertas Ķeniņas also took third place (70 plates in the main competition, 36 plates in the final).

In the junior competition, the previously mentioned Roberts Kēniņš took first place. The second place was won by Richard Zorov, and the third place was Zane Zvaigzne. Zane’s best result in the women’s competition. In the evaluation of the teams in this stage of the cup competition, the 1st place for the team “Guests of Kuldīgas” (Valdis Kalējs, Kaspars Avens, Roberts Ķeniņš). The second place went to the team “Jelgava” (Zane Zvaigzne, Anželika Glaudāne, Richard Zorov), while “Iecavas zirnieki” took the third place.

Father and son Tālis and Kārlis Jurgenovski fought for victory in the trench stand in the final. Both also have similar qualification results – 57 plates. This time experience prevailed and the victory went to Talis Jurgenovski. Therefore, Kārlis Jurgenovskis is in second place. The third was Raitis Onužāns, who had the best result in the qualification (60 plates), but lost to Jurgenovski in the final.

Kārlis Jurgenovskis was the best in the junior competition. Mārtiņš Freimanis took the second place. In the team evaluation, the Saldus stand shooting team (Jurgenovskis Tālis, Jurgenovskis Kārlis, Raivo Tuka) are the winners, leaving behind the hosts from Kuldīga (Mārtiņš Turkopulis, Mārtiņš Freimanis, Raitis Onužāns). The third was the incomplete team of Koknese (Normunds Bērziņš, Raivis Bērziņš).

The 2nd stage of the Latvian Cup stand shooting will take place on June 22.
