It became known why Trump “hates” Ukraine

--

Since Donald Trump’s Republican allies in Congress blocked military aid, it is clear that the former US president’s unfavorable attitude towards Ukraine has deeper roots, citing “Politico”, reports UNIAN.

It is noted that it was the phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky that led to Trump’s first impeachment in December 2019 after he was accused of trying to influence the 2020 election by persuading the Ukrainian leader to investigate incumbent President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, has already stoked fears in Kyiv by previously saying he could end the war within 24 hours and hoping it would end before he is forced to decide whether to hand over Ukraine to Moscow.

From the first hints of Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election campaign to the special counsel investigation and Trump’s impeachment in 2019, all roads seem to lead through Kyiv, journalists say.

“Trump hates Ukraine. He and those close to him believe that Ukraine was the cause of all of Trump’s problems,” said Lev Parnas, a Ukrainian-American businessman who once acted as a mediator in Ukraine for Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.
