The last details are currently being coordinated, the specialist informed the assistants and players about the change of his role this morning.
This season, the “Hornets” led by Clifford, who are also represented by the Latvian Dāvis Bertāns, have won only 18 in 75 games, which ranks them in 13th position in the Eastern Conference.
This is Clifford’s second stint with the Charlotte club, having managed it from 2013 to 2021 before returning to the position of head coach in 2022. Taking into account this season, in which “Hornets” are already guaranteed not to play in the “play-off” tournament, the Charlotte team has entered the playoffs four times in ten seasons, in all cases leaving the fight in the first round.
