Chris Finch, the head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA), has torn the patellar ligament in his right knee after a courtside collision with one of his players on Sunday.
It has already been reported that on Sunday, the Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns 122-116 in the fourth game of the Western Conference quarterfinals, and in the series up to four wins, they were superior 4-0, becoming the first team to reach the second round of the NBA playoffs this season.

Finch suffered the injury in the fourth quarter when he was hit on the sideline by Minnesota quarterback Mike Conley. The coach was able to leave the field only with the help of others and during the rest of the game his duties were taken over by assistant coach Mike Nori.
The Timberwolves reached the first round after a 19-year hiatus, which is tied for the third-longest streak in NBA playoff history. Once upon a time, fans of the Los Angeles Clippers (29 seasons) and Washington Wizards (22 seasons) had to wait longer.
In the second round of the NBA “play off”, or in the semi-finals of the Western Conference, the “Timberwolves” opponents will be last season’s champions Denver “Nuggets” or Los Angeles “Lakers”. The Nuggets lead the series 3-1.
