On Saturday, the floorball school “Masters/Ulbroka” team beat the floorball club “Valmiera”/”Betsafe” in a fierce battle in the fifth game of the semi-finals and entered the final, guaranteeing at least silver medals.

After winning the fourth game of the semi-final in Valmiera, Ulbroki had a great opportunity to secure a place in the final in the very next match at home, where they had previously beaten Valmiera twice. The opponents had other thoughts, and Saturday’s battle turned out to be very exciting.

Having taken the lead in the first period (1:0, 2:1), the hosts scored three goals in a row and started the third period losing 2:4. In less than six minutes, Ulbroka’s floorball players regained the lead (5:4) and less than five minutes before the end of the regular time, they still had the lead 7:5, but they could not protect the advantage – 7:7.

The Valmiera team started the extra time with a numerical majority, but made a mistake in their own zone, and Rolands Kovalevskis scored the winning goal in the sixth second in the game and in the entire series – 8:7 and 4:1.

R. Kovalevskis, Kevin Shmits and Matīs Kristiāns Morozov scored two goals for the home team, who also had three assists.

The opponents of FS “Masters”/Ulbrok in the final scheduled for April 13 at “Arena Riga” will be Talsu NSS/”Krauzers” or Cēsi “Lekrings” floorball players. After five games in the series up to four victories, Talsniki are in the lead with 3:2, the sixth match is already on Sunday.
