“The Russian army is now trying to use to its advantage the situation when we are waiting for supplies from partners, mainly from the United States. Therefore, the efficiency of supplies literally means stabilization of the front,” Zelensky said.

In order to change the situation, in addition to the supply of weapons from the allies, financial support and what Ukraine ultimately receives for this money is also essential.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that promises turn into real deliveries as soon as possible,” Stoltenberg admitted.

“NATO allies have not delivered what they promised. The US spent months negotiating a package for Ukraine. European allies have not delivered the promised amount of ammunition. And this has had serious consequences on the battlefield. The lack of ammunition has allowed Russia to advance along the front line,” said the NATO Secretary General.

Stoltenberg stressed that it is very important that the allies do not delay the delivery of aid to Ukraine. Everyone should understand that this is a matter of life and death and it has real consequences.

The NATO Secretary General is convinced that it is not too late for Ukraine to prevail in the war.

“Ukraine has been short for months and has been forced to ration its ammunition. This means that few Russian missiles and drones have been shot down and Russia has been able to advance on the front line. But it is not too late for Ukraine to gain the upper hand. More support is expected. There are both big and small announcements, which I have already made, but we need more of them.”

Stoltenberg emphasized that Ukraine’s place is in NATO and one day it will become a full-fledged member state.

Stoltenberg invited Zelenski to this year’s NATO summit in Washington. True, Ukraine should not wait for an invitation to join the alliance at the July summit.
