The current season of the “Stirnu buks” running series has started with the competition in Saulkrasti, with seven stages planned.
The fact that this is the most popular trail running series in Latvia was confirmed by the large number of participants, 4252 participants took part in different distances.
The main organizer of the event, Rimants Liepiņš, emphasizes that right now it is very important to be together and strengthen us as Latvian citizens and the spirit of society: “With every “Stirnu buka” I see how much courage, strength and endurance our people have, as well as love for their land . It is our duty as a society to increase and strengthen it, so we try to find new ways to involve both those who want to enjoy the beauty of the land of Latvia at a walking pace, and also to involve as many children and young people as possible. While the state is looking for ways to support and promote physical activities, we are already implementing it: the payment of each adult for the “Stirnu buka” registration gives us the opportunity to equalize the expenses for the participation of children and young people in the race.”
Everyone can find themselves in the series, there is canicross, cane and hiking distance, and of course different running distances. This year, you can represent not only your school, but also your sports club in the school championship.
